Appliances and Used Tires

Sponsored by the Rock Island County Waste Management Agency (RICWMA) and operated by Weikert Iron & Metal Recycling - pick-ups can also be scheduled online at  [http://www.weikertrecycling.com], this program disposes of old appliances and residentially generated tires, with rims removed, at no charge to residents. Please call (877) 934-5378 for responsible disposal information and to make an appointment.
LIMIT: Four appliances per household per year.
LIMIT: Ten tires per household per year.

Acceptable items: Refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, stoves, clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, ovens, garbage disposals, dishwashers, water coolers, heat pumps, chillers, furnaces, boilers and  microwave ovens.

Note: Appliances may also be referred to as White Goods.

Unacceptable items: T.V.s, hand held appliances, VCRs, garbage disposals, business equipment, computers.
