Appliances and Used Tires

Sponsored by the Rock Island County Waste Management Agency (RICWMA) and operated by Scientific Recycling, this program disposes of old appliances and residentially generated tires, with rims removed, at no charge to residents. Please call (800) 917-1969 for responsible disposal information and to make an appointment.
LIMIT: Four appliances per household per year.
LIMIT: Ten tires per household per year.

Acceptable items: Refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, freezers, air conditioners, humidifiers, stoves, clothes dryers, dehumidifiers, ovens, dishwashers, water coolers, heat pumps, chillers, furnaces, boilers and  microwave ovens.

Note: Appliances may also be referred to as White Goods.

Unacceptable items: T.V.s, hand held appliances, VCRs, garbage disposals, business equipment, computers.
